The Friday before Thanksgiving Break brought a showdown to remember: the Students vs. Staff Volleyball Game. The result? The students absolutely demolished the teachers. It was a fun and exciting match to watch, as both teams gave it their all—but the students came out on top. Of course, we’re amazing, so it’s no surprise.
After the game, we talked to players from both sides to get their thoughts.

“The Teachers Had a Streak Last Year”
Wendy Morales, one of the student players, shared her experience on the court. She said she was chosen to play because of her passion for sports and the effort she puts into everything she does. “I felt kinda excited, but the more I played, the more pumped I got,” she explained.
For Wendy, sports aren’t just about winning. They’ve helped her stay on top of her grades and maintain her health. But winning against the teachers? That was the best part.
Even though the students won, Wendy admitted she didn’t expect it. “The teachers had a streak of winning last year,” she said. Still, she felt “very proud and shocked at how far we made it.”

“Just Wait for the Basketball Game”
The teachers went into the game full of confidence—but it didn’t exactly work out for them.
Mr. Bolin was talking big the day before the match, making all kinds of accusations about the students and hyping up the staff team. But during the game, things didn’t go as planned. He blamed the floor (and his gout, a foot condition) for his struggles.
Mr. Torres, on the other hand, gave it everything he had. “A man, a myth, a legend” doesn’t even begin to cover it. He was jumping higher than ever, blocking shots, and protecting his team. Even though they didn’t win, his energy was off the charts.
After the game, Mr. Torres wasn’t too discouraged. He’s already planning his comeback. “Just wait for the basketball game,” he said, running off to play a 1v1 match against a student to start his training.

The Final Verdict
The staff tried their best, but it just wasn’t enough. The students demolished the teachers so badly that the staff might never recover. Okay, we’re just kidding—but seriously, the students are ready to dominate every game.
Good luck, teachers. You’re gonna need it.
