What is All-City?
All-City is a Fine Arts program that includes musical ensembles such as orchestra, band, and choir. Our Junior Varsity and Varsity students audition by preparing specific music pieces and scales, and by being enrolled in a participating school district. With all the pieces of music and scales being practiced over the span of weeks, the All-City auditions start.
How to Participate in All-City
To participate in All-City, you need to be a student in a participating school district and complete a registration and audition process. For example, what you need to do to audition in the band is bring your instrument to the school where you’re auditioning. Then, you will play scales and some of the music that they have given to you. Everyone is brought into a room with judges, and they play their music one at a time. The judges then score the results, and if you can meet the standards, you will be picked to play at All-City.
