The Bowie Band ended the year with its spring concert, featuring performances by the symphonic, varsity, and jazz bands. The event gave families a chance to see everything the students have been working on throughout the year.

“Some of the jazz concerts happen off campus or during the school day, so not everyone gets to see what we’ve been working on,” said trumpet player Lexie Mata, who performs in both varsity and jazz band. “The spring concert is special because our families get to hear everything we’ve put our time into.”

Lexie said her favorite pieces to perform were Curacao Blue by Zachary Smith with jazz band and the Star Wars Theme with varsity band.

Mr. Pogue shared his pride in the band’s accomplishments, saying, “This has been a tremendous year with all our groups who excelled both at UIL and Nimitz Fest. I am very grateful for our students’ commitment to musical success.” He also gave a special shout out to Mr. Torres for the support that helped make it all possible.
